Tomas Schmit (1943-2006) was born in Wipperfürth, near Cologne.
Through Nam June Paik , whom he got to know in 1961, be became involved with the Fluxus movement.
At the end of 1962 a great number of performance pieces originated, which were performed during many Fluxus Festivals and related manifestations.
Since the mid 1966s Schmit had been occupied with making drawings, mostly combined with texts.
