Futura founded with other New York graffers the crew of Soul Artists. This period of artistic emulation expires around 1973 when Futura finds himself involved in an accident with another writer named Ali. Futura decides to abandon Graffity and enroled himself in the US Navy for four years. In 1979 he receives a letter from Ali, asking him to return to New York. Both created the crew Soul Artists  of Zoo York. The piece described above is created in this period.
