Art & Project can be considered the most prominent Dutch gallery of the 70s. This gallery was instrumental in the spread of international conceptual art.
Between 1968 and 1989 gallery owners Adriaan van Ravesteijn and Geert van Beieren published so-called ‘bulletins’. These were generally sent around to promote exhibitions. In some cases they were part of the actual artworks. Such as bulletin 17 (Robert Barry), which read ‘During the exhibition the gallery will be closed’.
Other ‘bulletins’ were autonomous artworks. Sol LeWitt made a ‘folded drawing’ for ‘bulletin 43’.
