Francesco Conz (I)

Between 1987 and 2008, fifty eights artists belonging to the world of concrete and visual poetry, contributed to a unique project: La Livre (An Homage to Ezra Pound), an initiative of Francesco Conz. All contributions were unique pieces made in series, of which fifteen different books, each in an ‘edition’ of twelve were made. (As every page is a unique work of art the word edition, in its traditional meaning, is not really applicable in this case.)
Some of the contributors to the project: Henri Chopin, Dick Higgins, Gerhard Rühm, Emmett Williams, Heinz Gappmayr, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Jackson MacLow and the brothers Augusto and Haroldo De Campos.
The project began in 1987 with the organisation of the first of a series of workshops at Brunnenburg Castle in the province of South Tyrol – the home of the de Rachewiltz family – where Pound, starting in 1958, spent much of the final part of his life.
